(The definite article)

1.    the [ќЊ] : гийгVVлэгчээр эхэлсэн Vгийн өмнө : the book, the boy, the lady, the university, the union

2.    the [ќi] : эгшгээр эхэлсэн нэрийн өмнө : the American, the animal; мөн Vл дуудагдах h-ээр эхэлсэн Vгийн өмнө : hour, honour, honest; эхний Vе нь өргөлтгVй Vгийн h-ийн өмнө: the horizon тус тус хэрэглэгдэнэ.

I . Тухайлах ялгац гишVVн хэрэглэх тохиолдлууд

·         ЗVг чиг заасан : towards the North, in the North, гэвч: from north to south, from east to west гэх мэт тохиолдолд хэрэглэхгVй.

Сануулга : all, both, half, double, quite, twice - ын ард нь "the" байна. all the world, double the sum, all the money.

гэвч : тодорхой утгатай бол ялгац гишVVн хэрэглэгдэнэ : The school is near the church. - Сургууль сVмийн хажууд байдаг.

·         Материалын нэр : coal, iron , wood, gold : coal is important for export,
гэвч : the coal of Wales (Уэльсийн нVVрс) гэх мэтээр хэрэглэх нь бас бий.

Сануулга : "of"- ын тусламжтайгаар холбогдсон буюу тVVнтэй адил бVх тохиолдолд ялгац гишVVн авна.
